I was reading this post from MGoBlog commenter SixZero. He is (or considers himself) a graphic artist and is commenting on the new Big Ten log and his distaste for BrianGoBlog's create a better logo contest.
Although he has other, probably true, arguments; to me it boils down to "You aren't _____, so you don't understand and shouldn't really comment on this."
Isn't that what the entire site does? No one is a player or coach yet they write diaries and posts about particular plays and players and why they failed or succeeded. This seems to me to the Mike Taylor argument - that "you've probably never played the game, so you don't know!"
I think the Big Ten's new logo is unimpressive, I think the suggested crest style logo is far superior. I don't think anyone needs to be a graphic artist to know that, anymore than they need to have been in the marching band to know that jiMpossible was the best Gilligan in the history of the MMB!

Radio Callers
I heard someone call in to Ira's show after the game and say that the MSU 3OT game was exciting, but it was nothing like today's game, which was electrifying (or something like that).

Rick Leach
I'm listening to the Rick Leach interv-, er monologue from this morning and I have to say this in no uncertain terms:
RICK LEACH IS AN IDIOT
That's all I've got.

Our predictions, your rant and misc.
We both predicted 30 or more points for the Hawkeyes tomorrow night. Sam Webb just told me (on the radio) that he doesn't think Iowa can score that many points. If Iowa is going to win it will be in a low scoring game, M will win a higher scoring game.
Much to my surprise, Ira actually pointed out that M has given up 30+ points to Indiana, so why not Iowa.
Sam may be right, but the way he says things with such condescension for people who don't see things the way he does is ridiculous. Have you ever looked at his GoBlueMichigan Wolverine magazine or website? I can't imagine I would be too excited by the content.
MGoidiots and their love for "Shoelaces" are ridiculous. When he went out for that drive in the 4th quarter - I couldn't believe it. For me that was throwing away any chance for that drive. It reminded me of Carr putting the kid from OLSM in for Navarre on the 1-2 yard line against OSU in 2001. High chance for fail.
I would prefer he works on being the best option as a back-up QB then spend reps in practice working on double QB sets. We've seen Forcier get banged around a bit already. Having to rely on Sheridan or an unprepared Robinson would not be good.
I was glad to see MGoBrian agreed with me on the missed block by Minor last week. Brown had open field if Minor drops that defender and he whiffed.
Finally, Gladstone plays Esky tonight. Both teams have only one loss. Should be a good one. Go Braves!

MGoIdiot
Here's an MGoBlog post from an idiot on his first trip to Michigan Stadium. He seems like the guy you and Melissa thought I was going to fight about standing up a few years ago. What a horrible person. I wanted to comment "Please don't come back."
The WTKA guys are pretty vehement that they don't think RR could have known about Feagin's past. I think that is mostly ridiculous. If the Freep article is true - RR was recruiting him at WVU that gets rid of the "he took a last minute flier and didn't have much time to check his background..." argument. At the same time his HS coach said he didn't know anything about Feagin's drug dealing.
I'm happy there was immediate dismissal when it came to a police statement, I wish there was better vetting done so there is less chance this repeats.

Ignoring Jim's last post
Do you ever read the TomVH interviews with potential recruits in MGoBlog? That guy creeps me out. Apparently he "friends" all these 16-18 year-olds on the Book of Face.
He'll be meeting with Chris Hanson on Dateline NBC before too long...

taylor
According to the site I found, it says he graduated from HS in 1984. That would make him about 42-43. Are you sure you heard that right?
I'm looking forward to seeing your dad out there. I'm not sure he will do too well. He couldn't even handle the OSU band-o.

NPR and more
I'm not sophisticated enough to listen to NPR. I get the Cartalk guys and Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me as podcasts and listen to them as I walk in to work - but that's about all I can handle.
I don't understand callers and hosts on WTKA rooting for MSU to lose. I guess for me my rooting interests beyond Michigan are not tied to whether they're Michigan's big rival or not. I was tired of hearing how the Big East and ACC were so much better than the Big1T1en. I didn't have a problem rooting for the Spartans over Louisville, UConn or UNC.
I don't like the argument that - "well you know they wouldn't be pulling for M if the situation was reversed..." Who cares? I don't care if my rivals pull for me - maybe it is even better that they don't. I could argue that being able to root for the Spartans is because I don't consider them a threat. I have a greater dislike for teams from ESPNs-conferences-of-love than I do for MSU or OSU. If that means Jamie Morris, Mike Taylor or an MGoIdiot think I'm not a true M fan so be it.
